What distinguishes microblading from permanent cosmetics?

Microblading won’t stay as long as permanent or semi-permanent cosmetics applied with a machine. The pigment is deposited in the skin’s dermal layer at a depth of roughly a dime. Knowing just where to place the pigment is crucial if you want to maintain your clean hair strokes.

It’s all the same thing, it’s just stated differently. Microblading uses a manual instrument, whilst the other uses a machine. It’s permanent because it always lays in the skin, semi-permanent since it faded.

What’s involved?

Firstly a consultation is required before any permanent Cosmetics is carried out where together we choose the most suitable pigment colour and shape.
At your appointment, numbing cream is applied and the shape and colour is revaluated. Once we are both happy that the procedure can be carried out, the pigment is carefully implanted into the skin. Most procedures take 1.5 – 2 hrs and a second visit may be required after 6 weeks or within 3 months of the initial procedure.

The first 2 weeks after the procedure is called the colour stabilization period during which time the colour will appear darker and more sharply defined. In the first few days the epidermal (outer) layer heals and the colour will reduce by 30-50%. After the first 6 weeks the dermis (inner) and Epidermal (outer) layer is totally healed and this is when a top-up procedure can be determined

Does it hurt?

A majority of clients fall asleep during the eyebrow procedure and even say the tweezing of stray eyebrows is more painful than the actual procedure. You may experience a small amount of redness and swelling around the treated area but this will normally subside around 12-24 hrs after the procedure.

Is it expensive?

The cost of the procedure should not be the most important factor when choosing a permanent make-up technician but the quality of work, aftercare and reputation.

Eye Enhancement

The eye is actually opened via eyelash enhancement. The procedure is used in between the lashes to give the impression that they are thicker and longer and to improve the shape of the eye. Applying eyeliner above or below the lashes gives a more defined appearance and a more made-up appearance.
